Sending email using the GMail SMTP server sometimes fails with the error:

421 4.7.0 Try again later, closing connection.
Why is that?

GMail is probably limiting the amount of email that can be sent in some period of time. It's probably to prevent spamming. If sending a large amount of email, it's probably best to use your own email server.
