Not finding emails in POP3 mailbox to delete?

I have been trying to delete mail using the following coding example: http://www.examplecode.com/vb/pop3_deleteAll.asp

The problem I'm experiencing is that its not finding any email from the server however there is items marked as unread which the code should find and delete.
