The POP3 protocol can only read messages in the INBOX of an email account. If the mail server supports both POP3 and IMAP, then IMAP can be used to select a particular mailbox and then read the emails in that mailbox. There is not one method call to read emails in all mailboxes combined.

See this Chilkat blog post for more information about the number of emails in a POP3 mailbox: http://www.cknotes.com/?p=421
