I have already switched to using VS2013 for C# projects, but would also like to use it for C++. I still need to support v120_xp though. I suppose the library could even be trimmed a bit, since VS2013 now only supports UNICODE builds.

Not true that only UNICODE is supported, you can download as separate install MBCS libs, I'm currently working to projects rebuild using MBCS and I'm waiting for Chilkat and few others for testing all together.

Specifically for v120_xp it really uses vc10 bin so I suppose you can use old libraries, when you use XP compatibility mode you use old version cl inside the new environment, try to use new c++ feature and you'll discover that are not supported...

Sorry zaksoft, my bad. According to http://blogs.msdn.com/b/vcblog/archive/2013/07/08/mfc-support-for-mbcs-deprecated-in-visual-studio-2013.aspx MBCS is only deprecated, requires seperate download and suppresing warnings. I guess that I responded to quickly to the error message displayed in VS2013.

I only mention the v120_xp because the Chilkat download list includes specific v110_xp build. If they are essentially the same as vc10, then there should be no need to supply them?!?

Any date or a prerelease to complete our build and begin tests ?
